Updated: #youtubefail: Search Goes Down on the Video Site
UPDATE 2: Looks like YouTube search is up and working again.
Updated with comment from YouTube: There appear to be some problems with search on YouTube as yet another Google-owned property experiences technical difficulties this week. We’ve tried search from multiple computers on different networks and have run into our queries taking a very. long. time. we’re. talking. really. long. time. to load. And even got the error message pasted below. Numerous tweets have popped up with the “#youtubefail” tag.
Users have had headaches with Google search, Gmail and Blogger platforms over the past few days.
The rest of YouTube seemed to be working just fine, and this search issue could just be a hiccup. Videos we tried played without a hitch. We’ve contacted YouTube to see what’s up and will update as we learn more. But the Googleplex must all be thinking thank God it’s Friday after the week it’s had.
UPDATE: A YouTube spokesperson emailed us the following: “We’re aware some users are having trouble searching on YouTube. We’re looking into it, and we’ll update everyone soon.”

the #youtubefail is actually a reference to youtube banning the user ownagpranks from there site. he is asking all his fans to tweet #youtubefail to get there attention.
For everyone’s information, #YouTubeFAIL was created by the fans & subscribers of @OwnagePranks (http://twitter.com/OwnagePranks) against YouTube for suspending and deleting his account for no apparent reason.
It got even more popular when @Souljaboytellem (http://twitter.com/souljaboytellem) supported the cause and tweeted about it himself! You can check the said tweet here:

It has NOTHING to do with YouTube’s search whatsoever, your news is all over the place as it’s completely far flung.
wow what idiots. this is not a reference to the search failure, it is a reference to youtube’s stupidity in banning OwnagePranks for supposed “inappropriate” content. get your facts straight please!
Guys, nobody owns “#youtubefail.” This post is from a different incident on May 15. More power to you in trying to get the account back.
Oooh, I didn’t notice the date there. My bad.. Just responded to this because #YouTubefail trended again today and was in fact #1 on the trending topics so I immediately assumed this post was made just today. Well, looks like I’m not the only one too. LOL.
But thanks, we get it now. :)
