Hi,

I don't care how unfashionable it sounds, I believe there will be more players, as the Internet in general matures (and as long as they can survive beyond the downturn), to allow for at least Veoh, Dailymotion and MetaCafe to exist as an adjunct to YT, plus local equivalents, alongside the Hulu (producer-owned aggregating) types and direct Network Sites; Maybe, even with access windows the way they exist from Cinema via HBO to Network TV (The long tail versus speed, personalisation/value and quality).

I could write a lot more about that, as well as other tools for discovery like Setjam being available and how after 5 years Facebook only has 300m users and overlap with other Soc.Nets , et al.!!!!

However, The most interesting consequences of this judgement, and which might involve a conflict of an industry peer against it's own industry (re: YT supporting UMG taking legal action) would be the leverage and negotiating position between Vivo/YT and the other music-majors, and companies like CBS/Viacom that have had a very open content-distribution strategy in the context of supporting anyone but YT.

Kind regards,
