Technically, this IS trying to sell us something by promoting the movie and trying to build up the buzz to get more people to go see it, which = more ticket sales.

With that said, I really enjoyed it and I think they made it with the fans in mind.

I’m glad someone else besides me and Tim Street saw this as a cool viral marketing for the upcoming movie. It has aspects of transmedia storytelling by pushing the narrative across mediums.

Totally agree. This is a fun diversion that even the uninitiated can enjoy. And what I like most about it is that it's a "viral video" that doesn't try to trick you and isn't trying to sell you something. It's just a fun add-on for fans.
