I think you under estimate the power of youtube, there main format can be built apon without harming there core embodiment.

They have been working on a P2PTV hook-up with the popular PPlive software from China, so bandwith levels will not be a problem.

Bear in mind the fact that google are collaborating with IBM Blue Cloud, this could sort out there initial CDN distribution, for latency and load-balancing.

They have been testing the live stream P2P with there new Live messanger and no doubt they gained more research into whether live streaming will be accepted by their core users, 700,000 peak viewers shows quite good numbers for an entry level offering.

Dont forget more and more broadcasters, like the BBC will be able to turn there channel pages into broadcast networks, as will the UGC crowd, this could make MTV look weak.

No Brainer of what's to come!
