Want To Come to the Streamy Awards? Ticket Contest!
If you were interested in checking out this Saturday’s high-profile celebration of excellence in online video, well, we can help you out. NewTeeVee has a limited number of tickets to give away for the Streamy Awards in Los Angeles, and what better way to determine who gets them than with a little contest?
In the comments or via email, tell us how you’d introduce one of the Streamy Awards that will be presented during the ceremony (see here for a reminder of the nominees and the categories). Or, if you’re suffering from an extreme lack of creativity but are just desperate to come, then feel free to plead your case. Our favorite responses will get the tickets to both the ceremony and the afterparty. Hope to see you there Saturday!

I think you mean http://www.streamys.org/
You are correct! We’ll forgive the other Liz cause she was sick today.
here’s how I would introduce The Guild.
“some internet relationships in the gaming world can result in a few words that start with ‘N’: n00b, nerd, NO…less than 50 feet.
in this case, the ‘N’ stands for New friendships, New relationships, New adventures, New ways to say words.
introduce’d
This is The Guild.”
::cough cough cough::
And nice stuff, Cricket!
i’m not near L.A., so feel free to take my suggestion as your own:
before even announcing the category, state that “This category has been won by Felicia Day. What? She wasn’t even nominated in this category? Are you sure? OK, then, well, this category is …”
another one.
Web series are breaking new ground because the inequality in pay between male and female stars is being erased, if not turned upside down! Because being on the internet has certain disadvantages for male actors. … They have no boobs. And when they do have boobs, they’re in even worse trouble online. [Trust me. - depending who is announcing].
The nominees for Best Male Actor in a Dramatic Web Series are…
Music. It makes the world go round. And it makes the internet go round too. In fact, most of the 10% of the internet not dedicated to porn is people downloading music – illegally! [Don't lie, ____[insert bigwig here, like Oprah, if in attendance] — that copy of ‘all the single ladies’? – you’re busted!]
But, the internet is also where new legitimate music can became legitimate hits — through exposure on webseries. Like the nominees for Best Original Music in a Web Series ….
“IN A WORLD, where neuroses and online friendships combine, ONE GUILD stands between a girl and her one chance at living and loving IRL. “
Like that, but with more booming microphone effects and some serious fidgeting.
