Of course, we’ve also wondered if technology has leap-frogged the whole mess. Even cable companies are getting into the online video game with their authentication plans. [...]

How about a new remote? A remote/mouse hybrid (REMOUSE?) with a built-in keyboard (QWERTY or otherwise) that allows us to easily surf the web with one hand, while sitting on the couch and drinking a beer (OK... I might be willing to set the beer down to type in a URL...). Something that looks like a Blackberry with a trackball.

I would not hold my breath waiting on Cablevision. They invest as little as possible in new technology. Once they finally reveal this new network DVR system its just going to be one more way for them to charge consumers more for an inferior product. If there's one company who knows how to charge more for less its the monopolistic Cablevision.

As a whole, the entire Cablevision company is going no where fast because its under the control of the very unpredictable and unethical Dolan Family.
