Video Startup Private Beta Invites for YOU
Want to try out some fun products before they launch? You’ve come to the right place. Video recommendation service ffwd, which we wrote about when it was called Vadver, just released a version of its product for the Wii last night (like StumbleVideo for the Wii but with improved features). But you’ll need an invite to try it on the browser or the Wii, so (as we mentioned this morning) go to this NewTeeVee reader page to get signed up. The company expects to put a full version of its product out in June. We say get it out there now, but they want to perfect the user experience on all sorts of different platforms.
Also, Viddler is testing video commenting capability for any blog running on WordPress 2.x. I really like how this is integrating into an existing system rather than being a standalone thing (though you’ll need a Viddler account). You can see an example here. Having ffwd on the Wii is kinda cool. Now I wish I had a Wii.
I personally think more internet companies should be developing for the Wii
Nintendo made a huge mistake by making people pay $5 for the Wii Browser .It should of been included as a default channel on the Wii like the Weather channel or news Channel .

We totally agree with, Matt. Nintendo could have just made the box cost $255 and been done with it. If there was a way for us to give our beta peeps the 500 Wii Points they need to purchase the Internet Channel, we totally would (the smallest Wii Points card I can find in the US is 2000). Any ideas?
Patrick you can Gift the Wii Browser through the Wii Store to Beta testers if they give you their Wii Number .
Another idea Patrick is to create a WiiWare Channel for ffwd through Nintendo’s Software development Support group ,
