Why didn't they put the ads into the API in the first place? They get upset that someone uses it for its intended purpose, yet they were the ones that put it there?

The smart thing to do would be to enable the videos through the API and bind the ads to the videos so that they couldn't be stripped out (and rotate the ads, of course, on the most popular videos.) It should be immaterial to Vevo that this kid is selling display advertising against their videos as they should be in the audience, rather than distribution business.
