Thanks, John and Ned! I agree that if you could figure out a way to please the fans and also perhaps get new viewers interested in the show, you'd be achieving the best of both worlds.

And John, if you click on the NewTeeVee Station tab at the top of the page, or go here -- http://station.newteevee.com -- you can see all the reviews I write for NTV. No need to start my own site! :)

Great review. I especially like the fact that you take into account whether or not they are succeeding what they set out to do, not just whether you like what you see. That is an element of criticism I too rarely see. There are tons of shows that aren't to my taste, but if the creators are excelling at what they set out to do, more power to them.

Interesting questions, as well, about the purpose of this sort of show. They definitely seem to be aimed at either filling out the lives of smaller characters (30 Rock, The Office) or bridging gaps between seasons (Battlestar Galactica) or some combo of both. I'm interested in how you would go about using one of these to find new viewers, or promote discovery of the primary content.

Thanks for the food for thought.

not sure i completely agree. try jumping into Lost right now.

on a side note, me thinks Liz should start her own site with the sole focus on reviewing webseries. would be a good idea and create a better platform for discovering all the worthwhile stuff :)
