The Vloggies were good last year (disclosure: I am biased, as mefeedia received 2 Vloggies). I plan on going to the Winnies this year. :)

Awards shows are political by nature. I’m sure we will see all kinds of “Best of 2007″ awards shows in the coming months. For now, the more the merrier as it just brings more and more attention to online video and away from the TV. :)

Frank: i totally agree – there is no clear dividing line, hence why they also highlight top viral videos. i guess the point is if you’re looking for a “filter” or a “guide” this is one option.

Rob: i agree w/you on the funniest videos category – none of them made me laugh out loud.

MJ – how do they decide what is “professional” and what is not? While I applaud their focus, this exclusivity doesn’t work for the 18-34 year-old demographic whom now have the individual power to decide what they want to watch, when they want it, and where they want it..

Absolutely ridiculous. The only one of those that’s terribly funny is The Landlord, and that was done by a seasoned professional. Shame on you TV Guide.

Ask A Ninja should definitely be in the running. He’s original, with the times and lives for the Web. Why hasn’t anyone started ask a pirate?

Bill: actually they do call them webisodes on tvguide’s site.

while i think its interesting you’re covering this, you’ve missed some of the more interesting news coming out of tvguide.com. they recently officially launched their online video guide, which is focused on professional content. its actually quite good and a step up from the unfocused approach of truveo, google video, etc, while being seemingly as comprehensive from a professionally generated content perspective. i recommend checking it out.
