Transpera Raises $9M for Mobile Video Ad Network
Transpera has raised a $9 million round of financing to advance its mobile video ad network. Operating a video ad platform that is device-agnostic, Transpera says it can serve ads on the mobile web and across multiple phones and other mobile devices, such as the Apple iPhone and iPad, Google Android devices and Blackberry smartphones.
According to recent research by Insight Express, Transpera’s interactive mobile ad units typically outperform other online video ads for brand advertisers. That includes ads that produce nine times higher increase in purchase intent, 19 times higher increase in aided awareness, four times higher increase in unaided awareness and two times higher increase in ad awareness. That has led to the highest revenue per impression for publishers that are part of its ad network.
The funding round, which is the company’s third, was led by BlackBerry Partners Fund, and included existing investors Flybridge Capital Partners, First Round Capital, Intel Capital and Labrador Ventures. Since being founded in 2007, Transpera has raised a total of $18 million, including an $8.25 million Series B round announced in November 2008.
The ad firm plans to use the funds to grow its publisher network, while also increasing its ad sales force.
