You can probably expect to see some embeddedable episodes of The Wire via Hulu soon if my sources are right.

Me and the other writers over at Highbrid Nation loved The Wire. Actually, one of our guys just did a post today talking about how important The Wire was to viewers as well as the cast.

I think The Wire is one of those shows that most people won't truly get until years from now. 20 years from now people will look back on the Wire as one of the greatest shows ever created.

I used to work there - it's very unlikely that anyone who worked on on-air promos would have had any idea that Public Record (which was probably created by an agency) existed until long after the fact.

It's a pretty dysfunctional place, probably among the worst-managed but yet most profitable companies around. They don't know it yet, but it's doubtful in my opinion that they will survive the transition to the internet.

Also important to note that the business side has almost nothing to do with the creative side of the company. It means that gray-haired suits in finance and legal (well...) don't really interfere that much with creative decisions (making shows like The Wire possible) but it also means that the business side is a backwater.

Man, I loved that show so much! But I agree, they could have done a lot more in taking it to the next level with engaging their audience.
