Here’s some reading for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_general_election%2C_2006. It shows that the green party (no, I didn’t vote for them) received almost ten times the votes of the pirates. The pirates had more members at the time of the election, mainly due to the fact that you could become a member by paying 5 SEK (less than $1) online.
