I just tried setting my box through the settings button on my remote and I am now receiving the higher resolutions.

This totally worked!!! I was getting frustrated when after I got my HD DVR installed and all I was getting was a 480i resolution. I questioned the “tech” and said that was the best picture available. It like buying a DVD that upscales to 1080p looks better then normal dvd so if this cableox upscales 480p show to 1080i why won’t it look better. Guess i am not getting this hack at all.
