It like buying a DVD that upscales to 1080p looks better then normal dvd so if this cableox upscales 480p show to 1080i why won’t it look better. Guess i am not getting this hack at all.

Have had multiple issues with it. Had brighthouse come out for the second time tomorrow. hopefully will get it fixed. My question is-can these boxes somehow access the internet? like to stream netflix? I know tivo can, so i was wondering if these will. I noticed a usb port on the front of my dvr today and it got me thinking. Please let me know. I do not have a blue ray dvd player or a hdtv. so-am looking for a cheap/easy way to stream netflix. thanks for any info! :O)

I think it sucks! I get delays when switching through the HD channels and picture freezing. Anyhow, I was messing around with the remote and found a way to the diagnostics screen. If you hit the List button, then select a recorded show, then you will see (play, delete show, record options, back to list, & exit) arrow down to record options, then hold select down until you see the envelope on the box display. It takes a few seconds to appear. When you see the envelope press the down arrow. You should see diagnostics model on the screen. You can use the(x page I) to scroll through summary and 14 pages of information that provides error messages, Call ID, IP server information. Not sure what you can use it for, but I thought it was cool to find. Let me know if this works? I have the SA Explorer 8300 HD. Good luck and enjoy!
