It always comes back to Developers..
Fact is, people who make these websites, do NOT use microsoft tools, and are not likely to start.
Flash has been good to them and does what they need.
Flash is it.. And its also very open in some ways (Not video tho).

Microsoft will only have traction in the business market where there are already Microsoft infrastructure and programmers, VB, C#, etc, looking at migrating to Web technologies but already have Microsoft tools well under their belt.
