Perez Hilton Vs. Will.i.am in Video
Updated.
Celeb blogger (and now sort of a celeb himself) Perez Hilton apparently got punched by a member of Will.i.am’s entourage last night in Toronto at a party after the MuchMusic Video Awards. Hilton enlisted fans over Twitter to help him get the attention of the police, saying he was assaulted by Will.i.am. Will.i.am took to his video site of choice, Dipdive, to maintain his innocence, and opened a Twitter account to defend himself there. Then Hilton, using his real name Mario Lavandeira, posted a video statement on his own site going into excruciating and teary detail over the words and taunts he exchanged during and after the awards show with Will.i.am and his Black Eyed Peas bandmate, Fergie.
Not that I’m in any way an advocate of violence, but Hilton/Lavandeira really does play up the drama considering it’s less than a day later and he looks just fine. However, notably, he does have some element of truth on his side, because Molina Liborio, who is apparently Will.i.am’s manager, was taken into custody in Toronto last night and charged with assault.
Neither video makes its creator look particularly sympathetic. But if you want to judge for yourself, here they are:

Perez has never done anything but leech off others creativity. if you push sometimes you get pushed back thats what haqppen. if some one had called
Perez a faggot this would have been considered a hate crime. punches hurt but they heal words dont.
You got what yiou deserve. Freedom cost your ability to hurt people with your ridiculus opinion do too.
maybe next time you’ll understand that your viles cost and next time they might cost more.
In our system of justice, an arrest says nothing about the guilt or innocence of a person accused of a crime — it doesn’t even provide “an element of truth,” as you suggest. It’s potentially libelous to assert otherwise.
Good point Jeffrey. However, I did read that he turned himself in. http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/22/black-eyed-peas-held-captive/
On first hearing about the incident I was tempted to believe it was simply a fabrication to get attention, which is why I chose the wording “element of truth.”
Perez Hilton is a fat ass faggit who needs to get his ass stomped for talking shit. This made me want to by a BEYP album hahahaha. HERE HERE FOR WILL.I.AM
Liz, the fact that he turned himself in means nothing, legally and journalistically. Anyone can be arrested for anything. It’s unfair (and potentially actionable) for a reporter or a blogger to say that an arrest lends credence to any given charge until a court convicts the person. This is Journalism 101, really.
@ Jeffrey – Thanks for calling this out. I edited the post so as not to imply that the arrest gave any credence to the accounts.
the fact that Mario (Perez) didn’t call the police right away proves that he’s a lying gossip… oh wait, we already know that
