After having attended The Conversation and the International Film Festival Summit, as well as having read numerous articles and taking part in numerous discussions, I’ve been thinking about what 2009 might bring in terms of film distribution and consumption.

While downloading often gets defined as for-pay, as you know, that's just one application. Podcasting is a great way to achieve time and place shifting with free, legitimate content. Just check out the top 2008 podcasts and you'll find high quality, free ad-supported (in some cases) content from major media to protail. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewCustomPage?name=pageiTunes2008_Podcasts. So while the for-pay downloads have been giving way to streaming, podcasting is a great alternative to check out.
