Unless they can someone how get a huge percentage of their members to opt-in to a Video Privacy Protection Act waiver, it wont be very useful. The solution is in their new API and communities forming at 3rd party sites using Netflix data.

Also you might be interested in instantwatcher.com if you have not heard about it, its a cool resource for checking the latest additions and upcoming expirations. Unfortunately the API doesn’t expose a way to know if the is available in HD, yet :/

It will enchance the interest and promotion of the movie itself. Love the idea of a live audio commentary on Facebook – it could be a communal experience to watch movies with your buddy and interact in real time with each other.
