But in a way, Four Eyed Monsters also benefited from the collaboaration of the community. The version of the film that I saw two years ago at SXSW is different from the version currently on YouTube; not only is it a bit tighter, but there are allusions to the online culture of the film in its final montage.

I also think the FEM podcasts have in some ways crippled Arin and Susan from having careers as filmmakers in the traditional sense–at this point, they can’t leave FEM behind and make a new film from scratch, because they have this huge community that wants to see more podcasts.

I definitely enjoyed this first installment. Now to go put on a Bright Eyes record. Actually, lets make it a Beat Happening record.
