Amazon are definitely not using their Web Services Infrastructure to deliver their Movie streaming services (SD or HD) - they have been very open about this.

They are using FMS 3 or 3.5 and a CDN (i think Limelight) to deliver this service.

Also.. People don't realize what effect torrenting has on their network. When you are torrenting you not only saturate your network with thousands of tiny packets that cause congestion you congested your upstream which is almost always 1/10th as fast as your downloading speed. Turn off your torrents. Or schedule them to run late with products like uTorrent you can do that.

Surprising you had these problems with Amazon’s HD VOD service, the latency issues and excessive hops are supposed to be eliviated with Amazon Webservices CloudFront.

So CloudFront is still in beta then?

This is what Move Networks claims to to yes? Unicast streaming will always be challened with servers at the edge of Cdns. To achieve true scale you need to use http, not rtmp/rtsp.
