Friday Fun: “Don’t Call Me Liz!”
An email thread that started when a lobbyist tried to get ahold of an assistant to a member of the U.S. House has been making the rounds in political circles and those amused by extreme uptightness. The gist: One Elizabeth Becton, scheduling secretary to Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., does NOT like to be addressed as “Liz.”
Now, Keith Olbermann and Co. have executed what may be the most terrible dramatization of all time (of the email exchange). Please, Washington, don’t give him any more slow news days.
Meanwhile, you can call me or our reviews editor “Liz” any time you like. But DON’T CALL US ELIZABETH.

Seriously, don’t call us Elizabeth. They still haven’t found the last guy who did.
But, can we call you ma’am?
LMAO! (Shudder)
The review was right, in fact, Elizabeth Becton is an aide to Jim McDermott, a Democrat from Washington State. Whatever you do, don’t call her Liz, because she goes insane. After an e-mail with a staffer from some organization called her Liz in an email, she responded that she didn’t like the name, and after the man apologized she continued, exchanging 19 emails in total about how she didn’t like to be called Liz. Since she works for the government, she is paid with tax dollars, and there are REAL problems for these people to deal with. She’s still employed, but many would give short term loans to see Elizabeth Becton go away.
That was a flippin’ riot! Love Keith! And Lizzie babe needs to seriously take a nice vacation! =)
