Great reporting Liz. So if they are losing money, they probably aren't paying too much in taxes. I wonder what their interest payments are? Any sense of their cash flow? IE is more money going in than out, or vice versa?

This is the best post I've seen on Newteevee yet. I'm flabbergasted. The profitability of Current TV has been the focal point of its press for the past three years. I'm stunned it's bullshit. What does a company have to gain by alleging success? Why do I feel it's a marketing gimmick? Was it used to attract more user-gen producers? Did they want their do-gooder employees to feel better about themselves? I don't get it.

Liz, this is a great post.
They suffer from several problems:
1. uninspiring content
2. lack of programming, which they make a “strategy” out of it…:-)
3. most importantly, lack of viewership. No one really knows their true rating. They might succeed in closing additional deals with Cable networks, with Al’s influence, but in order to gain advertising $$$ they need viewers, which they simply do not have. Let’s see whether they succeed in in creasing viewership.

hey, thanks for the insight. I would like to temper the suspicion of financial blight and disregard for producers by adding that in my experience and in those of at least 5 others, Current TV has been very open, encouraging and supportive to relative newcomers to the trade. They've certainly reached out for content but have reciprocated in terms of constructive feedback, relationship building and by buying a number of pods from these producers. And while not all their content falls squarely into my area of taste, I have caught a few gems online. Current is and remains an interesting new approach to American TV.

By the way…I saw that little blurb …gives new meaning to a baptismal of fire….this is what happens when we flatter ourselves…the sentiments of a curse revisited in a back handed way…honey bees or conversions the slight is apparent.. I can not find the “pill of the totality of reason’s cup.”

Great sermon, I prefer his “I and Thou” thesis. Keeping people from treating each other like “it’s”…We suffer together because of prejudice…I learned this first hand. The procrastination thing was the same old thing that people imbued upon others for lack of effectively regentrification purposes. Policy had jumped wholesaley to a foreign policy that mimicked our Domestic Policy. The bones of the contention. Too Late…now I see why they say “don’t bring her down”…

The Martin Luther King Jr. clip is a nice touch…as a man familiar with the ontological process in extemporaneous datum of nations…that hostile failing policies hurt the struggle for integration. The civil right’s movement and legislation of 1875 was rescinded over the separate but equal clause of 1895 and the Supreme Courts ruling over segregated railway seating. Personally I would have chosen his I have a dream speech on the mall…the repentance thing most people would take as a pseudo psycho general cause of an affectual route dealing with habits of human nature rather than the nation itself…most people aren’t schooled in the ontological endeavor…do you seek to adhere to the “foliage” of history and extemporaneous times? “if you tear someone down, you have to know how to build them up again.

In the feed to the “report” …while being cautious about an add “preferable” to the dichotomy of the example given…a very nasty situation.
The software itself sounds just like the type of software discribed in the 1950 book “education and ecstacy”…children would be at monitors in a dome with other students watching from the center…the students at the console’s would be working and the program would function in just such an Intuitive way displaying the results on surrounding walls or monitors…Sounds like a “class two evolutionary gain”…[Bucky's eschatology] Donot be surprised by the dialectic of the materialism of the word’s…just a comment on how sophistication avoids pricey innovation and preserves backwards compatibility on antiquated buses.
