All of these metrics are driven be advertising, and the emperor’s clothes has always been that the are all averaged estimates – but estimates of what? Do people get a bit to eat in the break? Do they slide past commercials on TiVO?

Cinema has the best metrics of all because it’s a one – to one payment to buy a ticket.

Comparing a movie that’s available to for free on your laptop to one that requires payment and to leave the house makes no sense at all.
