I’m wondering, in the future as more and more of these services/UI’s become available and commoditised, and many content providers enable their programming to be available as the long tail, what will be the point of Tivo – When the consumer can just bypass any vested interests with their grand plans, and many of the content providers are happy to serve consumers the way they want it.

In an avalanche of content, the distributor gains power and the chess pieces of established players are thrown into the air…………
