I too thank you for picking up this story. I also point you to this language that was on the email you referred to and that I used in my reporting: “We encourage you, your family, colleagues & friends to vote/rate
favorite questions & the highest rated videos will be a factor in George
Stephanopoulos’decision and also have the opportunity to be featured in
ABC News NOW’s post-debate Spin room!”

I and others read that as George S using the video ranking system to determine which videos would be picked. That, combined with the text ABC used on their I-CAUGHT page for “Vote 2008″ encouraged vloggers to send videos, which they did to a small degree. Thus, ABC owes an appology to the vlogging community.
