No, and I definitely don't walk around with a pair of two-color glasses. While most people are trying to find a way to avoid wearing glasses you can bet there aren't others trying to find an excuse to do the opposite.

Until it becomes in vogue to get 3D laser surgery or easy to throw in 3D contacts this technology will be destined for the ambitious heap that includes quadrophonic electostat speakers, beta, and DAT. Great technologies all yet hindered by one or more major adoption hurdles.

The newest and/or best doesn't always win.

"Mark my words: 3DTV is DOA. We’ve had decades to demand it in several different iterations. Despite it’s long presence in the theatre and occasional experimentation over broadcast TV from time to time, it’s a whacky, uncomfortable and unnatural failure."

Agreed.

3DTV will not catch on as long as (1.) we have to put on stupid glasses or headgear of any kind, and (2.) it isn't a lot better than it is right now and dramatically better than HDTV 1080p. The whole time I was reading this article all I could think of was how ridiculous it sounded and how it missed the target completely. Any technology product manager would run like heck away from 3DTV for no other reason than the consumer's insatiable desire for "plug and play content" - from the experience installing a new DVD player to acquiring and using content. We'd have thrown out the remote control itself had we ultimately felt it wasn't our fault every time we lose it!

Let's put focus where it needs to be and continue pushing more bits and more upconversion into the viewing space and make the picture we have even more realistic and accessible to anyone deciding to sit down and watch.
