Sorry Brian. No such luck on a carrier subsidy for the Xperia in the USA at the moment. That means many folks will miss out on what might be a great Windows Mobile device due to the relatively high price tag.

I would love to upgrade from my Samsung 760i to that gorgeous WVGA Sony X1…but can’t see dropping nearly a grand to make that happen. Without major carrier support the phone is doomed to obscurity here in the USA.

Perhaps I have just missed the news of AT&T or some other US carrier picking this baby up?
