I bought one of these during the WooT off. I have not received it yet, but have read alot of bad things about them. Some goods things too though. Mine will be given to one of my employees to test its funcionality when doing service estimates, and printing invoices in the field.

I have a question: how can you hook up GPS to this bad boy? That is something a field manager would really need.

I can’t help but wonder if maybe there’s some sort of market research going on here. Part of the reason the ‘general public’ (aka journalists who aren’t mobile geeks) think UMPCs are a poor idea is because they’re expensive. “If it was cheaper, I’d buy it!” While that’s pretty much true of everything (if 50″ plasma tv’s were 300 dollars, I’d buy one of those too)…..

I can’t help but wonder if this is someone seeing if people will really buy a UMPC if it’s 750 instead of 1000 dollars.
