open itunes/preferences /general
select show apps
open apps (it shows apps purchased)
click on get new apps.
apps store! viola!

iPod Touch will eventually have the new software built-in. Otherwise, $10 upgrade to existing ones. Touch can't use apps that require camera, GPS, phone stuff.

Just found a backdoor. Pop "iphone" in search, Applications come up in one of the panes. Then you have to hit More Results allllll the way in the lower right corner. WTF?! This isn't intuituve.

Mike you can't use the software updater yet.
go to apple.com and download itunes it will be 7.7

Oh fek! It is too early for my brain to function. Caffeine level low. And now I must invoke Apple Update to get the latest iTunes (and it'll probably want to plant the latest QT too).

It will be hours before my mind is at sufficient GHzage for me to lose myself in the App Store.

I will have to keep a list of my own to post along with what the $$$ total will be.
