Will August bring the XV6800 to Verizon Wireless?
Let’s hope that the leaked Verizon Wireless product pipeline over at Engadget Mobile isn’t Photoshopped. If it’s legit then this month should bring the long awaited successor to the XV6700 into happy mobile hands everywhere. Aside from the XV6800 (which is the Verizon version of Sprint’s HTC Mogul), August should bring three handsets from Motorola, one being the Q9M, as well as the full QWERTY keyboarded Samsung i760. Hop over for the full pic and see what you think: fake or real? Now that Verizon’s network is fully upgraded to EV-DO Rev. A, the bigger question is: will the XV6800 come with the faster network support or will it wait for a firmware upgrade like the Mogul?

The answer is “no.” The XV6800 will come out in September or October, according to my VERY reliable source. I wish it were sooner, but I’m still happy with my XV6700, at the moment. :) … other than the occasional “reboot” to make it come back to life.
In anticipation of the launch of the Verizon XV6800, we’ve launched a community website where people can trade tips and have discussions. This is a sister site to SprintMogul.net, but will contain only information relevant to Verizon’s version of the phone.
