What’s the best e-book reader for the iPhone?
I read a lot of e-books; that’s no surprise. I read many of them on my iPhone, which is a surprisingly good e-book reader despite the small screen. The release this week of the Kindle for iPhone brought a lot of attention to iPhone e-book readers, and folks are starting to realize there are a number of readers available. So which is the best one?
That’s a matter of personal choice, and reading e-books on your phone is totally personal. I have used the three major readers, Stanza, eReader and now Kindle, and find them all to be decent readers. CNET has taken a look at these three readers and done a good job of reviewing them and comparing them. They look at the reading experience and where they find each reader to be compelling and where they fall short. It’s worth a look if you are interested in reading e-books on your iPhone and are wondering where to start.

I love Stanza. It is the best ebook reader for iPhone/Touch in my opinion. The developer is also very responsive to suggestions and comments.
I’d love to see ‘Classics’ bought over by an ebook seller and developed with some serious money behind it. My fav ebook reader but small selection of out of copyright titles.
I have a Sony Reader which I love, and I never really thought about buying the Kindle until I got the Kindle App.
The idea that I can pick up my phone and continue from where I was reading on the Kindle, and when I go back to the Kindle it automatically knows where I got to is tremendous.
For me, I could not use the iPod as the only platform for e-book reading, but what a great compliment to an e-ink device.
Its not about the reader so much but the content. Amazon offers more types of ebooks than Fictionwise. They have alot of computer related ebooks for the kindle which I find enjoyable. Currently I’m reading a ebooks on ubuntu and Vmware on the iphone kindle software. On Ereader I’m reading The Last Templar.
I second classics.
I use iSilo – I started using it on the Palm OS (Treo 650) back in 2004 and have been using it (on Windows Mobile) ever since. When they released iSilo for iPhone/iPod Touch, I immediately got a Touch.
I use it mostly for WTLibrary … WT peeps, what up!
Hello Daniel, (brother) seen that you had success per your post about isilo.
I just got isilo on my iphone particulary for the WT library but is having difficulties downloading the WT library! :( Can you please help me out, im desperatly in needs so i can do deeper study at work and what not.
thanks
I found Classics to be disappointing, and I am surprised that it is popular. You can only read those 16 books (which everyone over 18 has already read), and you can’t make any adjustments to formatting. I don’t know how anyone can read having to turn the page so often with that huge font.
I prefer eReader and Stanza, both of which let you add new content and change the formatting. You can get all of the books from Classics in Stanza for free, too.
I find Ereader to be the best. I love the auto scroll which is something even Stanza doesn’t have. Once you get the speed adjusted to your liking, no taps required – just pour the book into your brain.
I agree with john. I find, after trying them all (except iSilo) that I still prefer eReader the best. I like the settings that I can adjust and the quick daytime/nightime reading button I can hit to change my settings depending on where/when I am reading. I liked Stanza, but still thought it was a little rough around the edges in the setting department.
Ereader is the best in my opinion, here’s why: it has all of the best features of stanza like custom margins and line spacing and easy to switch to night mode but adds to that dictionary lookup, proper page numbering and search.
How can i u the e-book on my treo 650 phone
