I just purchased a hp ipaq 5910 and would like to use HWR for business trips. Am I correct in assuming there's a basic HWRv built in? If so is the ritepen program compatable with this unit and worthwhile enough to learn and use? Also how much memory does this program take? I've been trying to find some kind of comparison chart between the different HWR programs out there and no luck so far. Can anyonone direct me?

my comment is being done via ritepen on a touchscreen in portrait mode . switching back to landscape works fine. ritepen's word recognition is outstanding. FUJITSU P1032, XP Pro, SP1.

I wouldn't be surprised if the install builds some sort of coordinates table for the screen since it is possible to install it on different sizes and screen resolutions. Thus my question. Glad it's working!

Interesting question - yes the machine was in portrait mode during this installation. I seem to recall that the machine was docked, and thus in landscape mode, during the last installation. Perhaps herein is the root of the problem.

That's great, Paul. Any chance that you were in portrait when you installed ritePen?

This review made me try ritePen again on my U (without Tablet OS). Still a no go for me. Guess a Tablet OS purchase is in my future!

This surprises me as I do that all the time with my Sony U. Maybe the ritePen folks will chime in about this. To test this I switched to portrait in the middle of this post with no problem.

I used ritePen on my Motion Computing M1400 and found it to be very accurate and useful, with one exception: It does not sense a change in screen orientation from landscape to portrait mode. The application, therefore, struggles when the tablet is in portrait mode, attempting to interpret written entries and enter them 90 degrees removed from the writer's requirements. This behaviour creates some rather bizzare results. If ritePen could fix this problem, I would buy a copy in a heartbeat.
