Hi there, i am using the german Vodafone- Version of this USB-HSDPA Modem from "Huawei" (Model:E220), and the store told me that it will get a firmware update to support the 7,2mbps Downlink. Btw. The software works flawlessly on my mac and for the Window-side of things you don´t have to install anything, since this is kind of "dual-mode" USB and has sone flash in it where the driver is stored and installed automatically upon connecting to the USB port (as long as you´re under 2k, XP, Vista)
Sincerely
Markus
P.S.:I chose that over a expresscard for my MBP so that i can use it with my OQO as well and works great as well (even in trains or on the road;) )

I read a review of the Vodafone version of this device which suggested it might be capable of second generation hsdpa speeds too if and when the networks roll out this service in the UK. T-mobile's coverage isn't as widespread as Vodafone's here in the UK but at the price, it looks sweet. Perhaps a happy compromise between PCMCIA and express cards?
