I'm hoping he Palm Pre will be the next phone to have a large array of apps. As an iPhone. I heard that building an app for the Pre is "as easy as building a web page", do you know if there is any validity to that?

James:

Happy 4th. I agree with you about Evernote. I find that the more I use it, the more useful it becomes. I paid for a full account and am using Evernote almost as a "dumping" ground for all the various things that I come across that I need a place to store, but don't exactly know where to put.

I've used the taking photo option to take pictures of documents - and the fact that it is searchable is great. My problem is that if the document is important enough for me to want to photograph, chances are I need the document in something other then a .jpeg

What I have been experimenting with lately is using docscanner which I downloaded from the iPhone app store. This lets me also take a picture of a document, but it saves the document as a PDF. Once I am satisfied with it, I email the document to Evernote with the email address they assign you. Now I have the document available to me through Evernote - and searchable - but as an attorney, I need my documents in a format that I can manipulate like a PDF.

This is not taking anything away from Evernote which is great, I'm just trying to make it more functional for me. If Evernote ever let me save the pictures as a PDF natively, then I could get rid of the docscanner app.

Anyway, just my $.02
