I like the return to the old Thu-Sun schedule. Nothing bizarre about it, IMO :)

I am too lazy to look up/Google this information, but having the CES run through the weekend isn’t that unusual. I have attended at least two Comdex (remember that one?) and two CES over the course of the last ten years, and always on a weekend day. Why? Because while I like technology and have family in the area that I can stay with, I simply can’t justify taking precious vacation time to fly to Vegas during the week. Last year it didn’t run through the weekend, so I didn’t go, but this year expect me to roam the halls until my feed bleed.

Jim, no clever solution. I remember to pop the spare battery in once a week or two. I find that Apple’s batteries retain the charge for a very long time and it’s not necessary to do more often. It can be a pain if I need to charge both batteries overnight. Then I have to remember to put the dead battery in immediately when I return home and then swap it before going to bed.

I haven’t been buying additional batteries for my laptops since my ThinkPad 701C (Butterfly) because I tended to neglect swapping them enough to keep them both charged.

Instead I carry both wall and car chargers to ensure I can keep the tank full. Perhaps it’s time to again visit using multiple batteries.
