TechBlog- things that confuse Windows users who switch
Macs are not like Windows machines and anyone who switches immediately runs into a few things that are different that take some getting used to. Dwight Silverman is a true bi geek who knows both platforms as well as anyone on the planet and he’s written a new article on TechBlog- 6 things that confuse Windows users who switch to a Mac that all switchers should read. I haven’t switched but I do use both platforms every day, at least when I have a working Mac, and I run into these almost daily. It’s a good read and one that shouldn’t be missed by you switchers.

One thing that would really help is if there was a way to bring windows up from the dock when you command-Tab to them.
That’s probably the biggest issue I’ve had.
I do like command-Q for quit a whole lot better than F4…
No maximize button? wtf?
No, more like alt-tab to a running app that’s been minimized and it doesn’t pop up on the screen..
It’s just different and takes getting used to.
meh, sounds like mac is different for the sake of being different. ill stick to linux for now…
btw, anyone else being annoyed by firefox on linux using alt+numbers to change tabs, while in windows it use ctrl+numbers?
They didn’t mention my biggest pet peeve.
The action/cancel buttons are reversed. On the Mac, OK is on the right and Cancel is on the left.
You can always tell when a Mac person designs a Windows app or website. They don’t follow the Windows convention of OK/Cancel are backwards.
