on my 1620,

If I try to run the handwriting recognition personaliation tool, it
fails and I get a dialog box that says “An error occured in the
handwriting recognition personalization tool. Restart your computer
and then try again. If you still encounter this problem, please
contact your system administrator.

i cant get past this point to do any handwriting training… have u seen this with your 1620??

Actually as I re-read it Rob, you didn’t mention a button on the pen, so I assumed incorrectly on that. It could definitely be done with a hardware button if you have one to spare on a UMPC then. The multi-select tip works great on active digitizers where you can hover, but it’s pretty tricky with a passive and no hover.

Thanks for the link, Kevin. The buttons are actually on-screen buttons. I may not have made that clear enough in the post.

So, depending on the UMPC and the buttons that are available for mapping, you might be able to assign key strokes to those on-screen buttons, too.
