Special deal: free virus included with UMPC purchase
That’s the deal received by Aldi customers with the Medion UMPC purchase. The portable computer comes with an unwanted accessory: a 13-year old computer virus known as Stoned Angelina, which is no relation to the Drunken Brad pop-up ad. The virus isn’t destructive like Lara Croft, it simply replicates to other machines, but purchasing a virus-laden device doesn’t score any points for the quality control area. Medion recommends using a recovery disk to get your UMPC back in tip-top shape; it’s too bad the customer has to waste a few hours doing this, especially when the company’s web slogan reads "Your complete satisfaction is our goal."
Have any jkOTR readers purchased a computing device that had a virus out of the box?

My lenovo X60 came with usernames and passwords to ebay and many other sites in I.E. I’ve never received a new computer that was browsed on before. I chalked it up as someone doing a test drive.
