LOOK LIKE CRAP… WHY DO YOU TOLERATE IT..??? ITS NOT

Kevin, I’m using slide2unlock on my HTC Trinity without any problem. For better stability, if you set it to be closed after each run, try to leave it in the memory. If you still have problem, try batterystatus. It has an autolock feature which works very well. The slide2unlock thing was quirky… sometimes it would screw up and ‘crash’, and I’d have to soft-reset to get it to start again. Also, you could defeat it by rotating the screen. It is, however, very pretty.

The lock function in the Personal settings is password-protected device lock. I don’t need a password, I just need to keep from running stuff and keeping the device awake if I touch the screen after powering it on by accident.

Start -> Settings -> System -> Keylock locks the hardware buttons when you power the phone off. However, if you push the power button (which is easy to do on the 8525 as it’s on the side), you still can touch the screen and interact with the device.

(The WM Treo devices have a keylock that does what I want; it works just like the Treo 650.)

MobileShell’s ‘lock’ and the Device Lock today plugin that comes with WM5 do what I want in terms of locking the device, but they don’t do it *automatically*. :P

I’m just a typical whiny software user. “It doesn’t do THIS. Why can’t it do THIS? Every other program does this! Geeez I could write a program to do that in like five seconds!” (I couldn’t program my way out of a paper bag.)

I installed this on a Pocket PC to see what it looked like before I even owned my new 8525.

It was one of the first things I installed on my phone, and it hasn’t been off it. The new upgrade is great.

The only thing it’s missing is an automatic key lock. Wtf? what is so hard about an automatic keylock? my free nokia phone had one. My treo 650 had one. my roommate’s free nokia phone had one. My freaking horrible crummy panasonic TDMA phone had one. my mom’s super ancient analog qualcomm had one!!! Not everyone shells out 100 dollars for a fine corinthian leather blingy case for their phone… some people deposit their 500 dollar phones in a cargo pants pocket. :)
