I have just bought DR-BT30Q. Tried to pair it with my laptop. There are to modes: Audio Sink and Headset. In the first one the sound is nice and clear but microphone does not work. In the second one the mic works but the sound is just a disaster!

The main reason I bought the headset for was to use it for a language learning purposes. Now not only the system does not recognize my voice I can hardly recognize it myself when played back (it works nice and clearly with £3 wired headset). Sound played from Windows Media Player (second mode) is like from a tunnel… Paired with Nokia 6230 the same effect… Is it down to lack of AD2P in the second mode – no idea… If I find a solution I will let you know…

I just purchased the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth stereo headsets that look to do the same thing as the Sony. YOu can pair it with your audio device and Phone and have them both going at the same time. This allows you to listen to your audio device and still answer calls with your phone. The HT820 headset has a built in microphone so you could use it soley as a handsfree phone device. I do have an issue though that I still still working on. I can pair the headset just fine with my 6700 phone and my Q1. However, the audio from the Q1 does not automatically go to the headset. I have to launch Windows Media Player or iTunes first and then manually reconnect the bluetooth headset before I can get audio from the Q1. Also, the skip, pause and play from the headset does not do anything to the Q1. Arrrg.

Those look like they'd make a great companion for my laptop, both for music/audio and for Skype. Would be nice if they were (a) affordable and (b) chargeable via USB...
