Nomo, the Skype folks don’t appear to have added any additional security features in Skype 4.0 over the prior “consumer” version. I expect you’ll see the new codec and other features in a Skype 4.0 for Business fairly soon. I haven’t kept tabs on how long it takes for the Business version to follow the standard version.

I understand from your post that 4.0 is targeted at consumers. Do you know how 4.0 compares to 3.8 for Business (particularly with respect to security features)? When I ask Skype to look for updates it says 3.8.0.188 is the latest version.
