Is there any greater joy in life? (Even beats the thrill of a shiny new gadget, yes? Which for our tribe is saying a lot!).

Looking forward to Kevin adding one of these joyous photos some day soon, now that he’s happily married!

Coincidentally, my wife and I brought our newborn son home from the hospital Thanksgiving Day. Because my wife only wanted to eat so many ice chips, during her (alas, protracted) labor I used Twitter and the web to “live blog” the birth for our widely-scattered families, creating a virtual waiting room stretching from Spokane, Wash. to Birmingham, Alabama to a rural village in China. Recorded the first cry on my iPhone, too. People heard it minutes later, causing a few tears of joy to be sprinkled at various spots around the world. I’ve been updating the site since at
