Samsung and Ericsson Bring LTE to the Real World
LTE promises to be a major step up in the mobile broadband game, providing a pipe that is fat both up and downstream. Verizon is hard at work getting their rollout ready next year in the U.S. but Samsung and Ericsson have been working in Sweden on getting a real solution going now.
Samsung has been testing commercial LTE dongles that open the LTE pipe up to any computer with USB. The dongles have been successfully running on a test network in Stockholm deployed by Ericsson. The test network has complied with industry standards and shows that the technology is indeed ready for commercial deployment.
