Rob Bushway meets the Bag Lady
Gadget lovers have one thing in common, the love for the gadget bag. There are so many makes and types of gadget bags and we have a desire, no a responsibility to check out as many of them as possible until we find the perfect bag. It’s a nice little process since there’s no such thing as the perfect bag so our quest is ongoing and eternal. Rob Bushway of GottaBeMobile has a lot of bags, if you don’t believe that then check out his video where he demonstrates at least 10 bags. I lost count about half-way through the video so you’ll have to count them for yourself. Rob’s video is the result of his wife (Bag Lady, his term not mine) getting fed up with all the bags he has that he doesn’t use and telling him to get rid of them. So he shot a video before they walked out the door, probably for nostalgia sake. It’s funny to see one person with so many bags in one room. I have some advice for Rob to help him avoid this in the future.
- Never put all the bags you don’t use in one place. Spread them out in 3 or 4 different storage places so the Bag Lady can’t tell how many you really have.
- If you know you’ll never use a bag again give it away. At least that way you know who’s getting your treasure and not just some stranger.
- Never buy a bag without seeing a detailed review of it. I am guilty of buying the "perfect" bag and knowing five minutes after unpacking it that I don’t like it.
- Thin and light bags are not only easier to carry but also easier to hide, if you know what I mean.

Great stuff, James!
As I build my collection back up, I will definitely take those to heart. BTW: I’m giving away four of them on the site – just to pass along the love.
You only THINK you’ve fooled me. I know how many bags you have!
I would like to add, “Put smaller bags inside bigger bags, and remember where you put them.”
Of course, Mr. Mage pretends he is too frightened of the feminine anger resolution process (FARP?) to say anything about the bags. I’m cutting back for now, even got rid of a couple recently. I’ve just about given up on finding what I want, but I can’t wait for the day they hand me (or I pick up) my TechEd 2007 bag! Is it June, yet?
