Quick hands-on with the Telenav Shotgun GPS
The best laid plans often get set aside due to unforeseen circumstances and this happened to the folks at Telenav who are tomorrow announcing their first GPS device, the Telenav Shotgun. I have been using one of these little jewels for a bit and have one here in Pennsylvania that I have been using to get me around the fall countryside. I will be sharing my first impressions of the Shotgun when I get back in Houston but let me tell you if you have used the Telenav service and software on your Windows Mobile devices then you’ll love the Shotgun.
The Shotgun unit is impressive for it’s thin form, light weight and complete GPS package that provides all the power you have come to expect from Telenav. It will retail for $299.99 upon launch shortly but in the meantime here are some grainy photos I’ve snapped in my hotel room using the iPhone camera. My high-res photos are sitting back in Houston but you’ll have to wait for those.
Matt Miller was attending Kevin’s wedding today and I let him play with the Shotgun which has impressed him too.

neat, but I can’t help but think that there is a very limited market for yet another $10+/month service. With all of the month to month fees people pay these days who wants another bill to keep up with? Also, $10 seems a little steep unless you’re really logging some hours in the car. I’ll grant that service fees are relative based on the owner’s income, but it still seems a little spendy for an incremental add on. (The killer app of the service contract is the traffic – the other stuff seems like filler.)
So you used the Telenave Shotgun, to get to the wedding? So I guess that was Shotgun wedding directions?
