Pulse cycling helmet if you just can’t unplug
You can’t purchase this helmet just yet, but I’m betting a few adventurous folks hope it comes to market at some point. Julie-Ann Davies designed the Pulse helmet and it’s currently a finalist in the Australian Design Awards thanks to the mobile tech features. Aside from the reflective nature of the helmet, it has an LED tail-light on the back for visibility and safety. Although we don’t condone cycling while gabbing on a cell or listening to tunes from an attached DAP, it has a drop-down single ear speaker and a few controls to toggle the electronics on and off. The idea behind the one speaker is to allow you to hear traffic noise; the speaker is on the ear opposite the traffic. Hey, if you’re going to live dangerously, you might as well do it as safely as possible.
