I've been watching full-length movies on my pocket pc for the last five years. No streaming, just a few encoding tricks to get VOB files down to WMV format. You would be amazed how many hours of video fit on just one 8GB microSD card.

A friend of mine set up a nas drive with remote access a few years back on his home server so he could get to his ms office files from his PPC while on the go. I wanted to see if it would work with multimedia files, and did a little experiment. He has never looked back since. He now gets his entire movie and music collection from his pocket PC as if he were at home in front of his HTPC.

In a similar fashion, another friend of mine showed me his Fujitsu U820 which he uses over wifi around his home to access all his a/v files from his networked HTPC. Talk about poolside home theater in HD.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a HTC Touch HD and giving that a try.
