The displays at DFW look the same, but based on an error message on one, use a Flash-based application.

Breaking news. Computerized displays run of Windows/Linux/Mac. This justifies everything right about Windows/Linux/Mac.

Sorry, these stories are old. It happens.

I'm not sure Apple really wants their logo on display like that, considering how poorly that system works (I'm an airline pilot and fly through PHL on a regular basis, so I see these screens a lot). It seems more often than not that those screens show corruption, such as blank areas where multiple sections of information are missing (although it seems clear that it's not blank because the data isn't up to date, but because the system is having problems), entire screens are on and show the PHL logo but all of the actual information is missing (with the screens on either side working properly, so you can tell it's missing big sections like Harrisburg through Minneapolis), or other random little problems like screensavers being on when the other screens in the terminal (especially the ones that show the same terminal maps all the time) are working normally.

James or Kevin, drop me a line if you find yourself connecting through PHL again; I'll buy you a coffee if I have a break between flights.

I noticed that too when I was at the Philly airport last week. http://www.momathome.com/2008/11/apple_fail_whale/

Not sure it's a good thing to show the Apple logo when what I really wanted to see was whether my flight was on time or not. ;-)

That's new. Last time I flew out of Philly was in September. They had the older displays in Terminal B.

One time when I was stuck in Portland Maine due to weather, I walked around and saw a Linux error message on one of the Arrival/Departure displays.
