Heya, PJ!
My friend, you need to go to http://www.precentral.net for the know how on the homebrew magic. Here is the guide btw:

it is NOT jailbraking, in fact the Pre has a special code (and it’s an old Konami code to boot) to put the pre into devmode.
After that you install “File Coaster” which is the homebrew catalog app and you are ready to rumble.

OH, and if you want more advanced (ahem.. Linux) hacks, take a look at http://www.webos-internals.org they do some int resting tweaking of the Pre’s software. Definitely worth a look!

You need to install webOS Quick Install.
http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Tutorials_webOS_Installing_An_Ipk#WebOS_Quick_Install_Method

Then use webOS Quick Install to install fileCoaster.
http://forums.precentral.net/homebrew-apps/194825-filecoaster-first-pre-gui-downloader-installer.html

Once you have fileCoaster on your Pre, you can install homebrew apps easily.

Hey Kevin,

I just got a Palm Pre so I’m not really familiar with all the perks this phone offers, especially for homebrew apps. Do I have to do something to my phone (jailbreak?) in order to install homebrew apps? And is there a specific web site that I have to go in order to download homebrew apps? Thanks, in advance, for your reply. Always enjoying articles on jkontherun.
