I’m still not believing this pre shortage crap. There about 20000 sprint nextel store in the us. Who knows how many best buy, walmart and radio shack stores. Yet when the pre launches all of these places will be selling the pre. I guess each store will have one phone. Not to mention the fact that when I called sprint I was told that I could also call and order on the launch date. If there was really a pre shortage and they would not have any more phone til august they would not launch the phone yet. Please just use a lil common since people. First of all sprint and palm said they will not launch phone until they were confident that everything was right. I don’t thin they just ment everything as far as hardware and software. Everything including phone quantities. You have to understand that when you purchase this phone if it gets lost, stolen or damaged and you have the total protection plan. Sprint to have enough phones to replace yours. If the next batch doesn’t come out til august what are they gonna replace your phone with, a treo 755? We are talking bout a company who lost 1.25 million customers in the 1st quarter. I really think they would rather hold back the launch. Not to mention the fact that Palm has everything ridding on the success of this one devise. I think they would rather file bankruptcy before putting everything in this one device and then screwing up the launch.

Both the Sprint and Palm CEOs have stated there WILL BE A SHORTAGE.

So you mean to tell me that there are no sprint store Baltimore, Washington Dc, PA or NY selling the palm pre on sat. You must work for Apple. Please stop with all of this confusion. I really don’t believe any of this phone shortage crap either. I call sprint on sunday after see that best buy has the pre listed for $849.99 with you can search thier site and see with your own eyes. I asked about the price because I’m elegable for a $150 rebate to find if I would have to pay $700 after my rebate. I was told that regardless of the price I would only pay $299 after all discount and still receive the $100 mail. I also asked where I could get the phone. The person I spoke with said she wasn’t sure. I then ask her will the stores that are shown in the store locator have the pre and she said yes they will. So anyone who would like to buy a pre please go out and get one, I know I will. Palm is a great company and has always had great products. I don’t think the pre will be any different but please if you want one buy it. If you don’t like it you can always take it back.

If you use the locator to search the same stores that JK has in the screen shot they do not show this “SPECIAL STORE HOURS ON 6/5 & 6/6″ notation.
To what purpose JK is posting chopped screens I’m unsure.

Might I suggest an update at the top of the article, in bold letters, that tells unsuspecting readers that the information in the post is no longer valid? Stupid me, I read the post, then went to Sprint’s website and of course found NOT A SINGLE STORE in the Bay Area carrying the Pre according to the indicator given in the post. Only then did I read all the comments. Come on guys, don’t waste our time!

Per this article, not a single store in Las Vegas will receive a Pre either. Right..

I think it is wrong too. I live in the Bay Area (central Bay area) and I couldn’t find a single store in the region: SF, Oakland or San Jose (Palm’s backyard).

Nope, it was real. I just checked it out and Sprint has now removed any mention of which store is open when on launch day. Must not have liked the coverage today. :)

That must be Photoshopped or something, because I went to the Sprint website and none of the stores in San Antonio showed anything about the special hours OR about selling Pre’s. I called my local store and they said they were selling them and they were opening at 8AM on the 6th. I also talked to a Sprint rep and she said that EVERY Sprint store was going to have Pre’s in stock.
